Introduction
Advertising has
become more regulated for the purpose of ensuring the safety and the prosperity
of today’s society. Critics believe today’s advertisements have to reflect upon
today’s societal norms therefore these media viewers will not accept any depictions
that will tarnish their society’s morality. I have written these six journal
entries to demonstrate how today’s advertisement have been greatly regulated by
the Advertising Standards Canada (ASC). In consideration to the ASC, I have
correlated ASC’s list of clauses with the particular advertisements that I have
analyzed in these journal entries.
From 2016 and onward, instead of analyzing the advertisements from its ethical approaches, you guys will be following my advertising adventures during the winter term of my attendance at Sheridan College's Advertising Account Management Program. This part of my blog will guide you guys to my excitement in walking into this term and I will also share my blood, sweat, and tears in finishing the program as well. Hopefully through this series of blogs, I can encourage new hopefuls to join me in my ever exciting advertising adventures.
